Services do not see the drive mappings for the local user (at least they did not for NT4,Win2k or XP). I know that from programming services myself. Possibly it would work if you logged in as the local administrator and did the map then kept that user logged in for the entire backup. I would rather fix your backup problem with vista than this kludge.
