I can safely say that this is not a general problem: I have a test / 
demonstration setup where I have the DIR running in a virtual machine. 
The jobs are scheduled at the full hour and every 15 minutes. This is 
in OpenSUSE 10.3 This installation does not show this problem, i.e. 
when shutting down the OS, everything goes as smoothly as you can 
expect with four VMs on one Laptop :-)
