My first message on list, my greetings to all, expecially to bacula authors!
I'm deploying bacula in my work environment to primarly backup a set of windows clients connected to computer that are used as a storage of medical images and data (EEG, audiometers, ...). I'm 'mass-deploying' bacula windows client (on XPsp2) via WPKG (http://wpkg.org), the latest version (2.2.6). Storage and director (for now, the same box) are instead a debian etch box, using standard 1.38.11-8 version (no backport, no manual compiling). For now i'm still doing 'primary' tape backup using a simple sh wrapper around cpio and mt, and using bacula with disk storage; i'm still testing, indeed. Because the windows client are really 'clients', eg they are power up when needed, i've setup a schedule that, on mon-fri, start bacula at 8.00 and restart it every 15 minutes, on jobs language: Reschedule On Error = yes Reschedule Interval = 15 minutes Reschedule Times = 20 I'm using DHCP with automatic registration, so if client are not up, the address are not resolvable (as manual suggest). I'm using for all file daemons the same schedule for sake of simplicity, eg: Schedule { Name = WeeklyWindows Description = "Schedulazione settimanale per le macchine Windows" Run = Full mon at 8:00 Run = Incremental tue-fri at 8:00 } And so tasks start for every client at 8.00. The annoying thing are that everytime a job start, i receive a mail like: Subject: Bacula: Intervention needed for Teoden.2007-12-10_08.00.01 10-dic 09:00 trinity-sd: Job Teoden.2007-12-10_08.00.01 waiting to reserve a device. How can i prevent this? Thanks. -- dott.
