  ok, thanks for your quick reply
I tried your suggestions:  mt rewind and mt retension worked fine,  
however mt erase gives me "mt: /dev/nsa0: erase: Permission  
denied" (I stopped bacula-sd before). I discovered that the pid of  
bacula-sd and bacula-dir don't get deleted in /var/run/
After resetting scsi bus with camcontrol I can do mt erase
