    Bacula will search the pool for any volume labeled "Append" and use the 
first one it finds. The search for an appendable volume is random, so it will 
not necessarily pick the next available slot. I assume that when a volume is 
recycled, bacula marks it "Append", therefore qualifying it for the above step. 
For example, I had a tape in slot 7 fill up during a job, bacula then selected 
(randomly) the tape in slot 4 to load and then continued the backups.
