Ok, this is not something I looked into recently, but as far as I know Novell is moving towards linux as the base for the Netware services. So, when your Netware systems is linux based, you might easily be able to use Bacula. Otherwise, you'll have to mount the Netware volumes to a Bacula client and back up from there. Last time I looked, the filesystem metadate could not be sufficiently accessed from a remote mount, though. In both scenarios, you might have to implement a run before job command that dumps the metadata to a file which will be included in the backup. On restore, you'd first restore the files, then apply the metadata dump to the files. Unfortunately, I don't recall which command novell uses for this, but I guess your Netware admins will know what to do... > I did find some Suse RPM's, which led me to believe it *might* be > possible now. There are some users of Bacula which work in Netware environments, but I'm not sure they are actively reading the list (now). Looking through the archives, you might find some of them and ask how they use Bacula for Netware volumes.
