Well, that fits to what I believe - the VolWrites does not count the file marks, but the blocks written. I didn't want to argue with the manual in my previous mail :-) A block, by default, is 64512 Bytes IIRC, or let's say about 63k. Some calculation: 63*30000000/1024/1024 1802 So, your 30000000 writes would represent about 1.8 TBytes written to a tape. For LTO2, assuming 300GB per full tape, that would indicate the tape was completely filled about six times. Does that sound reasonable?
