I believe it happened under 2.0.X as I have been using a 2.X.X version
since around the time it was introduced. For a while I was testing the
svn code to test bat, but I have since reverted to 2.0.3 on the
director and storage daemon which are separate machines.

In my case it is doubtful that the network card is the problem in this
case as this is a server class system with 2 dual core cpus and dual
gigabit ethernet cards on the motherboard. It may however be do the
the software raid 5 I am running under windows as on the same system
with the same driver under XP it failed miserably (kept kicking out
different drives from the array) and after an upgrade to W2K3
enterprise (so that I could use > 4GB of memory and still use the 32
bit display dirver for the dual head medical montors) the software
raid has not had any problems. I actually bought a 3ware card to avoid
the problem but since its working now under 2k3 enterprise I did not
rebuild the system.

I am going on vacation now for a week so I will not be able to debug
this till at least the 19th but more likely the week after that as I
know there will be a a lot of work for me when I return...

Thanks,
John
