To Adam: it sounds like something is terribly broken with your Win2k3 ethernet 
card.  You might try upgrading the firmware (see the Win32 chapter for a 
reported case), or replacing the card.  If that doesn't solve the problem, it 
is probably some system configuration parameter that is causing problems.

You are undoubtely talking about an older 1.38.xx version of Bacula, since the 
problem that marked tapes in Error when the FD died has been corrected in 
2.0.0.  If this is not the case, you should put together the output showing 
how it happens and submit a bug report.
