Getting a bit of a weird status message with my bacula (1.38.11).
Specifically, The Volume assigned to my next Scheduled Job is *unknown*.
First, a bit of background. I needed to change the pool and volume
arrangements to ensure the daily job used only volumes it was supposed
to (no rocket science there); i appreciate my volume and pool setup is
probably more complicated that it needs to be.
Previously I had, for example, Monday tapes for week 1 and 2 in the same
pool. Our daily backup recently spilled over onto 2 tapes and as a
result of my retention periods, bacula recycled the following weeks
Monday tape and asked for it to be inserted in order to continue the
backup.
So, in an attempt to fix this, I have created different pools for
mon/tue/wed/.. week 1 and another pool for mon/tue/wed/.. week 2.
Reloading the config in bconsole returned no errors. However, bacula is
now showing (status dir) that this afternoon's backup job will use
*unknown* volumes...why?
I have restarted all services and even rebooted the box. I'm fairly sure
the schedule is correct in terms of what I want. For today I have
specified:
Run = Level=Full Pool=Wed_Wk2_And_Wk4_Pool 2nd 4th wed at 4:00pm
And the output from list volumes shows (formatted from its original
output to fit your screen):
Wed_Wk2_And_Wk4_Pool: VolumeName: WED_WK2_AND_WK4_TAPE_00 :
VolStatus: Recycle
I'm also seeing from `status dir'
Device "HP-DLT-VS80-01" (/dev/nsa0) is mounted with
Volume="WED_WK2_AND_WK4_TAPE_00" Pool="*unknown*"
What went wrong and how do I fix it so bacula with use
WED_WK2_AND_WK4_TAPE_00 for today?
