Good question! When I tried the delete volume=x by itself I would be prompted for the pool. So, I added it. I thought maybe it allowed the same volume to be in more than one pool. I wouldn't do that myself, but (this is sincere) I know there are much smarter folks than me designing and coding this project and I just went with the flow.
