I feel to have the same Problem. My Optionblock also contains the compression=GZIP as mentioned in the first post of this thread. But leads me to think gzip is not working is, i summed up the size of "du -hs" on the fileset corresponding dirs that were round about 300Megs. The Backupfile contained also around 300MB (let's say +/- 1%), so i guess no compression really happened. Due to the fact, that there are many plaintext files in the fileset i expect at least a compressionratio of 10% or more, just for verification if that works.
