...I also found this on the FD client machine:

Name  Mtu  Net/Dest      Address        Ipkts    Ierrs Opkts    Oerrs  Collis  Queue
lo0   8232 loopback      localhost      17627    0     17627    0      0       0
eri0  1500 ALTEA         ALTEA          39578122 1190  47614287 605397 1343684 0

...maybe this can be the problem?

Oggetto: Re: [Bacula-users] Slow FD

I did a snoop on the SD and FD machines, and found that all traffic is going directly from the FD client to the SD server. So, no double path to the director and back to SD.
What can make the traffic run so slow between them?

Oggetto: [Bacula-users] Slow FD

...I seem to be unlucky....every time I found a workaround....something is against me again....

Now I have :
- The Sun280R being the SD and the FD for backing up itself
- a Solaris x86 3Ghz being the Director and the Postgres
- a Solaris 8 SPARC being an FD
- a Windows machine being an FD

Then I run test jobs to see performances:
- I run the job to backup the Sun280R (SD machine) and it works fine 6000-7000KB/sec
- I run the job to backup the Sol8Sparc (FD only machine) and it works baaaaaaaaaad!!! 20KB/sec!!!!!
- I run the job to backup the Windows machine (FD only) and it works ok 3000-5000KB/sec

here is the FD status of the Sol8Sparc while backing up:

JobId 13 Job Backup_Aliseo.2006-09-13_11.01.02 is running.
    Backup Job started: 13-Sep-06 10:48
    Files=1,191 Bytes=9,781,433 Bytes/sec=21,263
    Files Examined=1,326
    Processing file: /u/enco/signew/leo.pgm/new/GESEOFF.CP4
    SDReadSeqNo=5 fd=6

....why is that so slow?!

What is the data path from the FD to the SD in my situation?!
