I'm not sure... I have run 1.38.something for quite some time, and am now running 1.39-beta and I don't see such a problem. I'm canceling jobs quite a lot during testing of this beta version (and also while I tested 1.38)and I didn't see such a problem. It might take a while for the DIR to move the job to the Terminated Jobs list, though - I had the impression that these lists (or rather, the jobs in it that were cancelled) were only updated when the scheduler got to work on them. Like a canceled job is only moved when all jobs running are done and the scheduler initializes the next ones. This has not been systematically verified or been checked in the source, though, and it might be an artifact of my setup here. What I'd suggest is to simply wait some time and see if the job status changes.
