Hello, As you have probably seen from Scott's email, new versions of the 1.38.11 docs, rpms, and the rescue disk have been released. Martin pointed out incorrect (old) documentation for DVD writing, which although it is still Beta quality, it seems to be working for most people. In addition, with Juan Luis' permission, I've modified the bacula-web doc license (previously none) to be FDL (GNU Free Document License). For rescue, I have corrected a missing execute permission on the getdiskinfo file.
Scott has put out new rpms that reflect these changes. Many thanks Scott. In addition, as a matter of form, I will probably release a new Win32 version 1.38.11, though it is not really necessary as there are no changes since version 1.38.10. Best regards, Kern Flame material, please skip if you are susceptible: I still seem to be living under some sort of black cloud because everything that can go wrong does with releases, uploading it, my machines, ... I uploaded version 1.38.11-2 several times and still got it wrong. Fortunately Scott was able to fix the damage. Yesterday, my Fedora FC5 development machine froze during standard Bacula regression tests, requiring a power off. When it came backup, my boot partition was empty. I loaded the latest kernel, made 3 full backups, and rebooted, at which time, it died a hundred horrible deaths (horrible death = a line of red output on the screen when something needed in the boot fails), and froze. In simple terms, FC5 shot itself in the foot. I am now mostly (about 90%) back up on SuSE 10.1. All is going well, it just takes time to get *everything* right (desktop, mail, bookmarks, daemons, connectivity, all the necessary development software, new installations of MySQL, PostgreSQL, ...) Bottom line, unless Scott decides to load a FC5 system, there will no longer be any FC5 rpms other than the source rpm. Since I have pity on FC5 users (guinea pigs for the RedHat cowboys -- I *was* one), over time (perhaps a month) I'll try to bring up an FC5 on my test system, and maybe you will once again get FC5/6 rpms.
