What tape do you want it to use?

Unless you've removed tapes from the following table, Bacula has chosen the one and only writable tape in the list.

All the other volumes are marked 'Used' which Bacula will leave alone until they are recycled.

I think the problem might be that because Bacula has found a writable tape (even tho it's not in the changer) it doesn't attempt to recycle any other tapes.

Something often overlooked by people when planning their recycling schemes is that bacula will not overwrite a tape until it absolutely has to. The retention period is the minimum length of time to retain a tape.

Try marking that tape to Used and see which tape it plans to use then.
