I'm still not convinced, but two such reports makes me concerned, and I would 
like to investigate this further ...

Could one of you two do a:

  bls -j -v -V <volume-name> -c bacula-sd.conf >bls.txt

If bls segfaults immediately, you hit a bug that has been corrected, but 
simply remove the -v option and it should work.  This may produce a lot of 
output, so send the file as an email attachment but just to me rather than 
everyone on the list, or alternatively, post it on some web site.
