Further you point to mysql.com for guidance but if you look there you'll see it isn't so easy to find a step thru there. A getting started page or the like. Yeah, there are forums and mailing lists but I searched that page for good half hour, following links etc with no hits on a basic doc. Probably there but poorly presented...
