I have read, and read again the manual, but I still don't understand how Bacula manage recycling...
Last Tuesday I had the Tuesday tape correctly written.
I have a Volume Retention of 5 days.
Next Tuesday I expected the Volume to be recycled, instead Bacula appended.
I am lucky that the Volume has space enough for a second backup to be appended, but this is not what I want, as I may risk that next time there will not be enough space and the backup will fail requesting a new Volume.
When is Bacula going to see that the retention period has passed, and data has to be recycled?
Once someone told me to use the Max Use, and I did it, but Bacula was not mounting the device automatically, requesting to manually mount the volume because it was in Used state.......and this is not acceptable.
The fun thing is that when ins Used state, the volume was recycled after mount.
Can someone explain me how Bacula is managing recycling?!
