Hi List,

we're currently having trouble with out
LTO-820 Autoloader from Gateway.

Backups working fine for some days.
Thenduring backup Error: Error writing final EOF to tape. This tape may not be
readable.
dev.c:1213 ioctl MTWEOF error on /dev/scsi/nsth1-c800c0i6l0. ERR=Input/output
error.

End of medium might be ok, this is at 88GB of 100GB uncompressed.

But then the fun starts:
Error: block.c:782 Read error at file:blk 0:0 on
device /dev/scsi/nsth1-c800c0i6l0. ERR=Input/output error.
07-Oct 12:19 epistaxis-sd: Troglodyte.2005-10-07_01.10.02 Warning: Requested
Volume "FULL_02" on /dev/scsi/nsth1-c800c0i6l0 is not a Bacula labeled
Volume, because: ERR=block.c:782 Read error at file:blk 0:0 on
device /dev/scsi/nsth1-c800c0i6l0. ERR=Input/output error.
07-Oct 12:19 epistaxis-sd: 3301 Issuing autochanger "loaded drive 0" command.

The tape is of course a bacula labeled volume.
The unit shows error code A5 (fan error).
After a couple of minutes the unit resets itself.

Using bconsole to remount the volume and the backup continues.

This is a brand new warranty replacement unit. The original unit also gave
this error and acouple of others. (BTW the reset took place during spooling,
so the tape was rewound without bacula noticing and there goes the tape
label and all backups on that tape)

Anyone having experiences with this unit or any
hints where to look?

As the replacement process took about 2 monthes, I'm not really willing
to go that route again.

CU Sven
