Yup, this describes very much the type of procedure I had in mind.  I
was thinking in terms of a Perl script to automatically process the BSR
files though, and possibly even fire off the jobs automatically.

Sounds quite possible... duplicate files should already be filtered out by the DIR, and I think we can safely say that bacula is able to create the directory structure itself.

Still, I think this would better be implemented inside bacula, not relying on an external script, because what is to be done should not be specific to a certain setup, unlike mtx-changer or dvd-*

Of course, an external solution could be implemented quickly. You could run the necessary script as a run before job, perhaps.
