Yes, one minute is actually not a very long time compared to what some people
are experiencing with large databases.
One of my worries 5 1/2 years ago when I chose to use SQL as the database was
performance. I could have, and probably still can write a database that is
*much* faster (easy if you know your data), but such a solution would be more
difficult to upgrade and extend, and it would not allow users easy access.
