Hello List,

this post is somehow related to this threat:
http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?thread_id=7722658&forum_id=8833
where Kern Sibbald tried to explain why and how you should write or not
write to DVD.

I just wanted to summarize this here, to see if i understood it right,
and if someone else does it one of those ways.

I think there are 3 ways, please correct me if there are more and better
ways:

a) Check if the DVD is blank or not, then do the backup to dvd. Source:
http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_id=12193195

b) Write 650MB CD volumes and write them to a DVD with a script:
http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_id=11483865

c) Maybe the best way: Use a DVD-RAM Drive:
http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_id=9031377

I guess going for solution no. c) would be the best?!
If not c) then Misty`s script a) would be the way to go.
Last but not least way b)?

What do you think about the 3 ways i found?
I am very new to bacula, but i hope i found all the possible ways, and
that i judged them correctly.

Thanks, Mario
