Hi, I happen to have a strange problem here with a bacula-client running on a x86_64 host. The incremental backups are nearly the same size as the full backup even though not many files changed. The host is a webserver which was running on a IA32 host before with a nighty incremental backup size of about 300 to 500 MB. After the data was moved to a x86_64 host with rhel4 running on it (64bit userland and the bacula rpm compiled for 64bit) the nightly incremental size clocks in at about 12GB per backup-run. With the full backup reaching 15GB this is a bit much.
I have created three new backups, one full backup of this host during the night to yesterday, a differential backup this morning and an incremental backup which finished right now. As one can see below, the backup size is not that different. Has anyone ever seen a similiar problem? For what it's worth: the bacula-fd as well as the bacula-director is 1.36.2. regards, andreas log excerpt: 07-May 01:05 bender-dir: No prior Full backup Job record found. 07-May 01:05 bender-dir: No prior or suitable Full backup found.
