I see (besides the grammatical errors in the documentation) two problems:
+ using AU_ALIAS for AC_FD_CC doesn't work (I replaced it with a
define).
+ there's no direct list of dependencies; but using the latest
release of automake makes an error in autoconf's Makefile.in
