The chapter text reads: "The code used in this chapter is available in an OpenOffice.org text document named SC01.sxw. Download and open this document."

However, the exposition was a bit lame because there was no URL present for locating or downloading this file...

Does anybody have this file handy, so that it can be converted to .odt and be parked somewhere for download? A Goggle search only came up with a few PDF references to this file.

The Introduction to Macros chapter is in fact the first chapter of a book written by Andrew Pitonyak, which he and his publisher kindly allowed us to re-use. The reference to SC01.sxw is to a file that people could get if they bought the book. Andrew and I had intended to remove all those references from the OOoAuthors version of the chapter, but obviously we missed one (or more). At this point I think the best thing to do is to delete that statement.

Andrew is, I believe, on vacation right now. When he returns we can discuss whether to update the chapter, or remove it from our list of publications, or mark it as "out of date", or what.

There are GUI functions described in the chapter that either are newly introduced (Import and Export) and the Append, which doesn't exist anymore. (There is also another that just was a name change.)

The Export and Import functions need to be clarified and those sections containing the Append have to be rewritten or eliminated. There is at least another nonexistent item involving the location of the path for the libraries mentioned in the Options because I couldn't find the Blank or whatever it was (I stopped at that point and watched the NASCAR race).

So, should that formerly missing file be converted to ODT and parked somewhere? That should be a no-brainer to do or should that section be done away with instead?
