I recently created a new account on the AUR (aur.archlinux.org), but I have not received the password reset email despite several attempts. I have checked my spam/junk folder.

There is a chance that I might have mistyped my email address during registration. Also, I am using a Microsoft email address (Outlook/ Hotmail), which I know sometimes causes issues with receiving automated messages.

Could you please check if my account is registered with the correct email and help me receive the reset email or update my account if necessary?

Thank you very much for your help.

All Archlinux servers (services) are currently unavailable (see post immediately before yours). This has been ongoing for about a week as some miscreant has waged a DDoS campaign against Arch. Arch leadership is working hard with its cloud provider to resolve the matter, but given the vast sea of IPs that can be utilized in such an attack, it is a very large problem to mitigate.

Join the rest of us waiting ... and hoping for a swift end to the insanity.

Cilgin, I can’t look into your issue, but it’s likely a “normal” error: either with delivery, AUR itself, or the email address provided. AUR administrators should pick it up soon. If not, you may also talk about the issue in #archlinux-aur on Libera.chat. The replies there are not necessarily faster and you’ll need to stay on-line to see them. But they’re more interactive, which may help if there is indeed some error on either side.

The ongoing DoS is not affecting the ability to send emails. As one might guess from this exchange taking place.

All Arch’s services were fully operational all the time, with the exception of the web interface to the forum, AUR, and home site. Those three had spotty availability over :443 on IPv4. But otherwise remained fine, and access should be back to normal since yesterday.

Cheers, hope it’s solved soon
