Here's the deal guys... Pink Floyd fans don't like Metallica music and vice versa Eagles fans don't like Enigma music and vice versa Hans Zimmer fans don't like Britney Spears music and vice versa Kenny G fans won't like lets say...Akon or P Diddy's music..and for sure vice versa...
The list can go on...all these artists have their own fanbase... Now fortunately or unfortunately AR Rahman is a master of all these varied genres...he's almost created music related to each and every genre...sometimes mixed and matched them to create unique music. I said unfortunately coz we have several members here who these days complain that he's lost his touch or songs not great like before and crap like that. As Rawat rightly said in the mail below your liking of a song or disliking entirely defines u as a music lover. If u dun like a song of Rahman, it might be coz u dun like that genre of songs. I see many bashing songs where either Blaaze / kash and krissy perform rap. If u like soulful music u will obviously not like rap, and that doesn't mean Rahman should NOT do rap. As a fan its ur responsibility to comment on songs which fall in ur fav genre and jus not unnecessarily put bad remarks abt songs from other genres. I thank ARR for all the genres he introduced me to in these 18 yrs. My musical knowledge got enhanced becoz of his music. As an example I am not a big fan of ARR's punjabi genre songs...I feel there are better musicians who do good job in that area. RDB is an exception. But I feel good he tries different in that genre and feel very happy when he succeeds...That doesnt mean I can go bashing his music from that genre. Hope the viewpoints change in this group.
