I think one has to trust his instincts and draw some line somewhere
that when he is not liking an album after repeated listening, it is
quite likely that the album is not to his liking, so he has to stop
after some number of listening.

I concede that ARR's some albums didn't click for me, say 1947Earth in
first repeatedly listenings, and then I gave up on it as not my type
of music, but I heard that again after some 6 months, and started
liking that.

Such type of experiences give you trust on a personality that what he
does has some depth on it so you give him enough tries till you start
liking it.

but then, I didn't like JTJYN and Ghajini and something made me
conclude fast that these are not my type of music so I gave up on
them. Still, after seeing the movie, I started liking mausam mastana
or something from the first and Kaise Mujhe Tu from the second.

So, nobody is telling you here that you keep on hearing ARR albums
endlessly and you are sure to like on 1000th or 10000th hearing. It is
not so.

but, you should give them a reasonable try, that depends on you trust
on him that he has earned by his 18 years of work, that you don't give
up on his albums on one or two days. For ARR, I have observed that the
more time any of his albums takes to click with me, the more "durable"
it is for me, that is, i keep on liking it for more and more time.

I have heard Himesh's songs, and I can say that they are catchy. There
is no soul in them. They don't sustain. How many of you hear Tera Tera
Tera now, or herapheri's top of the chart songs now?

I can say that current Pritam's work has more soul that Himesh's all
songs put together may have. I don't need 100 listenings to like "aaj
din chadheya" or "chorbazari do nayano ki", and I am sure I wudn't
like Himesh's any song or JTJTN or GHajini even after 100 or 1000
listening.

Earlier ARR's music was unique, for you, and no one else was giving
it. Now, you have been hearing that unique style for 18 years, so its
novelty has withered somewhat, and others have also learned the style
ARR uses so they have also started trying elements of it, so you are
not able to find difference in pure ARR style and others' ARR's
mimicked style.
