Actually I would like to differ.
I think he is praising Rahman here. He is saying during the last 15 years of
Rahman being in the industry , there have been 2 periods where NS and HS
have outsold him. According to me, he is making the exact same point that
just because they sold well during a particular time, it doesn't mean ARR
didn't good music or their music is accepted by all. After all where are
they now and where is ARR?

Anyways this is my interpretation.
