Haven't they mentioned on the CD that it's traditional... both lyrics & the song! Also in the making of music video too, ROM mentions the same thing! He says AR only enhanced the original tune!

To: "arrf" <[email protected]> Date: Saturday, 21 February, 2009, 8:31 PM Something very serious has come up. In today's Dainik Bhaskar Newspaper (Feb 21, 2009), Indore edition, City Bhaskar (Page 6, I guess), Mr Jaiprakash Chaukse, writer of regular column "Parde Ke Peeche" that has been compiled and published as a book also of the same title, has accused our man of piracy. he said something like this - -- (translated from hindi) This song (Genda Phool) is an adaption of Chattishgarh' s poet Gangaram Shivare and Music Director Bhulavaram Yadav's song "Saas Gaari Dethe, Nanad Muha Lene, Dever Babu Mor". There is some alteration in the lyrics of the song, the tune has also some alteration. The song was rendered by Joshi Sisters in 70s. -- Google thru this link: http://amitasha. sulekha.com/ blog/post/ 2009/02/delhi- 6-folk-song- gonda-ful- became-genda- ful.htm I am speechless. The D6 song is a great song and has become my fav. And it is the first time that such a serious allegation has come up against our man. It is not about 2-3 seconds of similarity due to some bought loops, they are talking about the complete song. I am sad that this controversy has arisen. Hope some ethical and mutually amicable solution comes up. Requesting members to remain calm. I hope that concerned D6 people would and should issue some statement about it. -- Rawat Add more friends to your messenger and enjoy! Go to http://messenger.yahoo.com/invite/
