Well if anyone has observed, mani's direction is mainly dependent on his entire crew. He hires the best. Not that he is wrong, but very dependent on them. For example, check out the disappointing endings in Alaipayuthey,Guru, Yuva and even Dil se.
And personally i felt Guru BGMs went wrong in the second half with Guru bhai theme way too loud. Agreed Mani gets the best from arr and ashu has a long way to go, but if you observe the bgms in lagaan and swades its just too perfect. Its just my opinion. And again i thought "yeh Jo Des hai tera" picturisation was one of the best. Its innocent and perfect. But whatever it is, we are so glad to all these directors who bring the best from arr.
