Dear Madhukar It would have been nice if you would have read the earlier messages before giving your personal opinion. This would have cleared your doubt that this forum is not for expressing "personal opinions". It is a genuine group of people who appreciate music and are together to know more about ARR as a person and MD.
I am sure, none of the ARR fan group members rate a music director as 1 or 2 or 100, To me Illiaraja is top quality, so is ARR. We are not here to put someone on top and as a result put others down. If you are really fond of Illairaja, I am sure, you will not be saying these things which you said. The two MDs Illairaja and Rahman are two gifted persons. Let's not trash their art like this. If you feel ARR was not good in the London Philharmonic, fine ! Nobody in this group expects him to win all battles at all times. Nobody in this group will rate him highest only because he was successful with London Philharmonic. We all love ARR because he is a humble person and we all adore his music because it touches our heart directly. Now again, if his music has been created electronically or otherwise, it does not change our opinion. So, continue to listen to Illairaja more seriously, may be some day you will get the true meaning of good music. Create a fanclub for that great Maestro. We all will join that fanclub. We welcome your entry in the club inspite of publishing loose personal comments. We do not rate music directors here. All are great ! Please dont think i am just against ARR. ARR himself confessed that he failed miserably as a conductor and promised a much better show next time. > Coming to his composing, he has showed his class in a lot of songs. His electronic music pleases everyone in this world. But to me music is not only the electronic rhythm, pure orchestration is what a best composer strives for. With due credits to ARR, he has orchestrated mind blowing pieces. But the amount of orchestration he uses as against his usual rhythm is very meagre.Symphonies are all about orchestration. As an indian,i would want ARR be known as a great composer and conductor because nowadays we can see number of music directors coming up with their own electronic rhythms in varied styles, but can anyone of you single out a great orchestrator among them.Giving a hit song is not all about music.Eventhough ARR started his carrer with a lot of orchestration, he has relied more on elctronic rhythm than orchestration, which is the purest form of music.I would love to see ARR as an orchestrator than an electronic composer. > Please note that I have not posted this message to hurt anyone.i just found this topic to be intersting and i have just aired my views.hope you all take it in the right sense. It is because that I really admire ARR, I had to disagree with a few of you. Your valuable comments are welcome. > With Regards, > Madhukar > > > > --------------------------------- > Yahoo!
