Thx for ur support karthik. SJS is ok compared to ks.ravikumar. he's the worst tastes of music in rahman's group. in 'muthu film, rahman did most of the songs in his own style, but after that,
rahman put songs for ks.ravikumar's tastes. for eg. in 'thenali film (in 5, 2 to 3 songs were for ks.ravikumar), then padayappa.. now 'godfather film.
i'm not blaming rahman g, bcos he gives 5 to 6 tunes for every situation, but the director is the fina decision maker. then rahman gives 100% full effort to mould the selected tune & present it to the audience, but the result is for only the selected catchy tunes..
in A Aa film, 'Thaluvuthu naluvuthu song.. is also added in ur list.. other listed songs by u r very correct karthik. what u hv told for 'parasuram film songs r 100% right. also for udaya film, except 3 songs, others r for director's needs. so, our boss should consider for these directors, he should do his own style of songs in future..
but in the common view, v hv to say thx for ks.ravikumar & sj.surya for book'g often rahman for his big projects, so v can forgive their musical tastes. personally i can tell that sj.surya is nice compared to ks.ravikumar like directors... kulo.
I support what Kulothungan says.
Take for example E20U15, I think ARR went by the directors taste and approval. Even Aha..Aaa, he okayed songs which were instantly liked by SJS, but I know ARR wouldn't have been entirely please with a couple of songs in that film. He should rather not release a song for shooting unless he was convinced by himself that its upto his standards. Not all directors are AG, MR or ROM. We have SJS who has great filmy brains and good pair of ears but not a musical taste as refined as the directors I have mentioned.
ARR, cannot score music like, "enge enge...Dolna", "kathakali" etc..Come on..these songs did not connect with the public at any level..
where as songs of NEW and aah..aa to an extend went up to B and C level, but still some of ARR's signatures were missing. What I am saying is ARR should use his style in these songs also.

then abt rahman's commitment in LOR album, my personal worry abt rahman is 'he is always the director's musician. consider'g the fact, all directors can't b a 'maniratnam, 'shankar, 'subash ghai etc.. for these people, rahman's policy is 200% right regd giving the songs in their tastes, but for others, rahman can't impress his music on poor audiences. i always support raja for giving his own kind of music for the film's purposes & not for the director's own interests. so, mostly he got success, but gained a worst name against the directors r from other creators.. whether the result is right r wrong, raja is the only reason ie., nearly 90% for his own decisions. so, my request is rahman should change his attitude accord'g to every director's musical tastes..
