I keep listening to his songs old and new, in Tamil and in Hindi, and I want to bang my head sometimes. His compositions are beyond me. Where on earth or out of this earth does he get so much creativity and how does he he put it all together to make such awe inspiring, breathtaking, heart thumping, soul stirring music for years and years??? I sit down in my front of my keyboard and it takes me so long just to compose ONE LINE..., and that too I sometimes end up creating something that doesn't sound right or sounds too similar to another tune. Granted, this is Rahman's full time job, but nonwithstanding, his talent is EXTRAORDINARY...and the more I think about it, I feel that he is UNDERRATED in India. I don't like all his songs mind you. I don't think he is a God. But, if there was anyone close to being an enlightened musician, Rahman is the one. He has the very fortunate ability to combine emotional intelligence and genius creativity and create music that is more than the sum of its parts and often, beyond what anyone could conceive of. Not wanting to sound like I'm practicing idol worship, Rahman will never ever cease to amaze, inspire, stir, and demand the utmost respect and admiration. A God's gift, no doubt, and a fantastic human being who conveys his messages of peace and unity through his brilliance. Just give me two minutes to meet him......just two minutes......my life would be complete.
