I can only speak for the SABRE Lite and Nitrogen6x (i.MX6 based). Those have some controller called IPU (version 3, IPUv3).
That controller needs to be supported in order to drive an LCD via LVDS. Someone „just“ has to port it. :) I _think_ the most work is supporting IPUv3 itself.
