English isn't even my first language and I've never gotten confused with any of the terminology. The difference between a task, process, and thread is quite clear. It becomes even clearer the more you spend time with the framework. Even in normal computer applications, the word task often involves several processes. For example, in the windows task manager. When you right click on a task or process it shows 'end process tree' which implies that a task can be a set of processes. I don't have a fancy CS degree, so I'm now sure what task means in an academic sense though.
