That's a matter of economy and market. Google is a USA based company, although they make business all over the world. We, the other part of the world, will have to wait the release of some Android based mobile phone in our countries. Hopefully some day market will be at our side and as you said, all "developers" will have the same opportunities to get the hardware we are working for so hard. Nowadays the distribution chain is not fair for outside USA, but we have to live with this.
Developing with the emulator is the only solution, and yes, a lot of applications have been developed this way without having any kind of access to the real hardware, but it's still not the same. You know, having the device in your hand, in your pocket, ..., it much more motivating. So, I highly endorse your complain. We don't want Google to give us a free phone (well, we want, as everybody but it's not the point of this discussion), we just want to be able to buy it easily as we where "anywhere" in the world. That's the point of this kind of devices, isn't it? Anywhere, anything in your hand ... but not the device you work for ... It sound a little crazy ... And, as "arnouf", I have nothing against USA developers or even companies, but against the chain of distribution and the privileges some pieces of land has. That apply not only to USA, but also to Finland and the release of special, early devices from Nokia...
