Hi, first off thanks for reading this and thanks for maintaining this list and of course the ALSA Project.
I'm experiencing difficulties getting my Digigram VXPocket V2 soundcard to work. This is a PCMCIA sound card which is listed as working in the sound card matrix. I have tested it in two different computers (Toshiba Satellite 5105-S507 and Averatec 1050-EB1) using U/Kubuntu, Suse, and others - now Mepis. With each install, I get the same errors on both machines. I tested the card in Windows XP last night and it works. I have tried compiling various kernel versions in the past making sure vxpocket was enabled. Right now I'm using the default kernel v. 2.6.15 in Mepis. The Alsa packages are v. 1.0.10 so that is the firmware version that I've tried most recently. I've tried compiling the Alsa packages from source exactly as instructed on the alsa-project guide for this card, with the same results - When I insert the card into my pc card slot I get the following dmesg output: [4297123.195000] pccard: PCMCIA card inserted into slot 1 [4297123.195000] pcmcia: registering new device pcmcia1.0 [4297123.243000] vx: can't load firmware vx/bx_1_vxp.b56 It appears that the firmware doesn't load and as a result the card is not recognized. I'm attaching lsmod and dmesg here. I'm convinced that I've followed the configuration instructions to a tee and tried all of the kernel boot options that I'd read about. noacpi pci=assign-busses If anyone could help out here it would be invaluable.
