Alsa-firmware 1.0.10 was compiled from source which matches the Mepis package versions for alsa-firmware-loaders, alsa-tools, alsa-utils, alsa-base, etc. I've tried compiling these programs from source as well in previous OS installations with the same result.
Could it be an issue with pcmcia? I'm attaching output from lspci -v. I should admit that I don't know if the IRQs are set correctly. So far I've always left this alone and not specified any IRQ as a module option.
