Hey everyone, has anybody had any luck getting alsa to work properly with an AD1986A chip? lspci: 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition Audio Controller (rev 02) -> the driver should be hda-intel
I tried using in-kernel drivers (module/no module) and also downloading the driver and compiling it from source. I'm using gentoo btw and a 2.6.17 kernel. My pc is a Samsung X60 notebook. My problem is that even if I get the sound card to work (which seems to be a lottery) the speakers do not work. There is sound on the headphones, but there is a very annoying beep on the left channel. Has anybody got an idea on how to sole this?
