Hi,

I'm running Suse 10 (kernel 2.6.xx) on an HP Pavilion 6470Z with a RipTide audio card (Rockwell RipTide audio/Conexant modem).  I contacted the providers of the driver for Linux and they said that RipTide is supported by ALSA now, so I looked on the ALSA project site and found that RipTide was included in the 1.0.11 change log.

However, when I run 'alsaconf', it doesn't detect the card, even though Suse correctly identifies it in the Yast Hardware info. tool.  Also, I used 'ndiswrapper' to install the PC drivers for the card and it reports both the driver installed properly and the hardware is present.

How can I determine what ALSA version I have installed?  Maybe I need the latest in order to detect and configure my card.  If so, do I just need the ALSA driver or the library too?  I'm not quite sure how to go about upgrading ALSA.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

John
