I have issues with some software I use with my onboard sound card get

both in PCM and Dolby digital out, and when these "xrun" errors occur
the (particularly) dolby digital bitstream feed to an external decoder
cuts out, and am really having a hard time determing if its because its
just a cheapy onboard sound card or if its software related. Am
wondering if a higher quality sound card would fix this problem. I was
eyeing the sould blaster audigy2 card, but also read the spdif output is
currently broken with these cards. Can anyone recommend solutions to my
problem?
Which application is displaying the "fixing audio drift by..." ?
If it is xine, then that is quite normal, and you can ignore it.
yes it is from xine this one, the content is DVB.
The xruns is quite a different error, and should not happen.
That would be a bug in the application.
This comes from a VDR plugin called softdevice to decode DVB mpeg
streams
The weird thing is that I had a kenwood av decoder that never had a
problem with either application dolby digital cutting out (PCM is fine),
the replacement Yamaha receiver decoder cuts out. (no the receiver is
fine, as a standalone DVD player does not exibit this effect) What
exactly causes this? incompatibility between the decoder and the sound
card or the sound output from the app not right?
