I have issues with some software I use with my onboard sound card get
errors like "fixing audio drift by..." and "xrun" errors caused by the
sound card sampling clock being not kept properly? I use only SPDIF out
both in PCM and Dolby digital out, and when these "xrun" errors occur
the (particularly) dolby digital bitstream feed to an external decoder
cuts out, and am really having a hard time determing if its because its
just a cheapy onboard sound card or if its software related. Am
wondering if a higher quality sound card would fix this problem. I was
eyeing the sould blaster audigy2 card, but also read the spdif output is
currently broken with these cards. Can anyone recommend solutions to my
problem?
