Hi,

I'm new to this mailing list. I've looked all over the Internet for help but just can't find how to setup my RME Hammerfall HDSP 9632 under Suse 10 (64 bit AMD kernel).

The module seems to load but I can't get any sound out of the thing. When I bring up the HDSP mixer it loads but it says "null" in the title bar, so I assume there's a problem with it loading. The volume control on the task bar says that I have a -2353462764% sample rate. When I bring up the DSP settings I can sync to an external ADAT or SPDIF signal. When I click on the different buttons, I can hear a little "click" so it must be doing something.

I've tried using alsaconf and it finds the card but when it tries to do the test.wav file nothing comes out. I've read some old stuff about having a .asoundrc file but I'm not sure how to make one. I'm using the latest flash BIOS for the RME and it's the only PCI card I have in my system. The card works great under Windows XP and have no trouble with it. I'm sure I'm just missing a little config file but have no idea what to do. I just want to output sound to my monitors so that I can listen to tunes and maybe play some CDs while I'm using Linux.

Can anyone help me? I'd buy the info if I knew it would work! :)

Thanks and Happy Holidays!
