[Alsa-user] dmix plugin with multiple users

is there anyway to set up alsa using the dmix plugin so that multiple 
local users can access the sound card? at the moment the first user can 
use the soundcard with dmix, but when another user tries they do not 
have the required permissions.

if the permissions of the /tmp/alsa-dmix-blah file are changed to 660 
then both users can access the soundcard.

any ideas?
