[Alsa-user] MPU-401 (on via 686B)

I can't hear any sound trying to play midi directly on my via 686B. Although 
I know this may be impossible since the card usually loads some sort of midi 
enumerator software to support the card, but one thing has confused me: 
rosegarden advised me to use the sfxload program to load a sound font for my 
card. I can't see this program in alsa-utils or alsa-driver. Does this no 
longer exist? Is there no need for it anymore?
It's not really a problem since I can use fluidsynth okay, but I'm just 
curious. Does anyone know what happened?
