I've similar problems with mys soundcard, ICH5 based (Abit IC7-G MoBo, pci ID 8086:24d5), identified by alsa as Card: Intel ICH5 Chip: Realtek ALC650 rev 3 I'm also unable to get any sound from rear speakers, and I've tried any combination of mixer settings. I'm using 2.6.1-mm1 kernel,afaik with latest alsa patch.
