And I just re-read this and realized I didn't quite say what the problem
is.  Fedora is suppose to have modprobe (and modinfo) built into the
system, but when I su to root, I'm not finding them.

(I was able to find 'em with SuSE...  But I have yet to get *anything* to
compile on the SuSE system, let alone something as complex as this...  You
get an idea of why I'm abandoning that platform.)
