Bummer. I can assure you I am getting sound, but the sound quality is bad. In alsamixer I have: Master - unmuted and at 61% PCM - unmuted and at 67% IEC 958 P - unmuted and at 100% 4 VIA DXS channels at 100% Everything else is at 0% and possibly muted. I'm not completely sure whether I have an 8233 or 8235 sound chip. From lspci: 00:11.5 Multimedia audio controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT8233/A/8235 AC97 Audio Controller (rev 50) /proc/asound shows a link V8235->card0 so maybe it is an 8235 in my case. (Asus A7V266-E) This board uses a Via KT266A Chipset. I believe this audio is integrated into that chipset. 00:00.0 Host bridge: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT8366/A/7 [Apollo KT266/A/333] 00:01.0 PCI bridge: VIA Technologies, Inc.
